Cub Scouts

Both of the boys were involved in Cub Scouts again this year. Drew earned his Wolf Badge on February 23 and Trenton earned his Arrow of Light and bridged to Boy Scouts. He has worked very hard these past two years and earned all 20 of the Webelo Activity Pins. He will start attending Boy Scout meetings and activities this week and has his first camp out at the end of March. Both boys say they plan to earn the Eagle Scout award. Won't we be so proud!

Tim's birthday

Tim turned 42 on December 29, 2007.

Christmas 2007

Oma and Opa came to visit for Christmas 2007. The boys loaded up on gifts of course. They got fly-rods and vests, star wars toys, movies, playstation games, and sleds, etc, etc. I got a fly-rod too. It was a nice time. We roasted some yummy marshmallows in the fireplace.

Winter Concert

Trenton has become quite the trumpeter. He was the only band member to have a solo at the winter concert. He played "Trumpet Voluntary". If he was nervous you would never know it. He looked as cool as a cucumber and did an awesome job. Since he hardly ever practices Tim and I didn't even know how well he could play! Since then his class has started learning to play the recorder (Trenton started in 3rd grade) and now he can play "Trumpet Voluntary" and other songs on the trumpet, the recorder and the piano. He picks the songs out on the piano. I guess he has a gift. He is also teaching himself to play "Taps". The notes are pretty high but he keeps working on it.

Drew's birthday and Thanksgiving

Drew's birthday fell on Thanksgiving again last year (2007) and we spent the week in NC at my dad's and my grandmother's house. My sister was also there with her 2 boys, Nathan and Chad. Then when we got home Drew had another party with his friends.

Science Fair

Trenton entered his second Science Fair this November. His project was about electromagnets and testing how to make a magnet more powerful. He won second place in his class and I think this spring they are taking the winners to the next level.

Halloween

I'm way behind on the blog so I have to go back to Halloween. My boys are Star Wars fanatics and I'm pretty sure they have turned the rest of the kids on the street into fans too. Maybe they think, "If we can't beat them, join them". But either way they ALL dressed as Star Wars characters. Trenton was Darth Sidious and Drew was Yoda. I'll let you identify the rest. Just a note--it is now March 2 and the boys still have Halloween candy. Like Mother like sons, I guess.
